The Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic was established on January 1. 1919. Since 1922 - part of the USSR.
Den. unit: 1 ruble = 100 kopecks. Postage stamps on the territory of Byelorussia were introduced on January 1, 1858. Stamps made of three dotted concentric circles with No. 6 were used in Vitebsk, with No. 11 in Grodno, with No. 25 in Minsk, and with No. 26 in Mogilev. In Brest, an oval dotted stamp with No. 1 was used. Rectangular dotted stamps with No. 42–53 were used in the cities of Vitebsk, with No. 104–110 of Grodno, with No. 246–254 of Minsk, with No. 255–269 of Mogilev provinces.
On the territory of the BSSR, stamps of Russia were in circulation, since 1921 stamps of the RSFSR, and since 1923 stamps of the USSR.
In connection with the growth of postage rates and the lack of postage signs of the required denominations, the existing stamps were revalued.
In Rogachev, in 1920, large numbers of the denomination in black were overprinted on the stamps of Russia by hand. The value of overprinted stamps increased 100 times. They meet with the stamps not only of Rogachev, but also of other post offices subordinate to the Rogachev post office, as well as field post office 76.
In Surazh in 1920 on a Russian stamp of 15 kopecks. (1909) hand overprinted in red "15 rubles". This overprint is mostly known upside down.
In Minsk in 1922 on quarter blocks of stamps of 2, 3 and 5 kopecks. official seal was embossed. On the seal is the inscription “Workers 'and Peasants' Soviet Government. Commissioner of Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones of Belarus" and the Soviet coat of arms. On a 5 kopeck stamp. an imprint was also made of another seal with the inscription “Soviet Socialist Republic of Lithuania and Belarus. Extraordinary Commissioner of the Minsk Postal and Telegraph. node". With an imprint of the seal, the cost of each stamp was 250 rubles. Known with stamps of Minsk and adjacent areas.
