The Second World War is a war between two world military-political coalitions, which has become the largest armed conflict in the history of mankind.
It was attended by 62 states out of 74 that existed at that time. The fighting was carried out on the territory of Europe, Asia and Africa and in the waters of all oceans. This is the only conflict in which nuclear weapons have been used. More than 70 million people died as a result of the war, most of them civilians.
