The automobile bridge across the river Disna in Disna town is a unique arched bridge with a wooden coating on a metal and stone base. It is used for 100 years. After the Second World War the damaged span was replaced by a trophy one from Germany but of a different design.
In 2002 the bridge was overhauled. Now the wooden flooring is "rolled up" under the asphalt but the boards are still visible.
The pedestrian bridge to the Island of Courage and Sorrow on the river Svisloch in Minsk connects the past with the present. On the island there is a memorial complex dedicated to the Belarusian soldiers who died in Afghanistan in 1979-1989.
The island is a symbol of Belarus, our Motherland, which keeps the eternal memory of its sons.
The memorial was created not only in memory of those who fought. It was created for all living people, like our common pain, memory and the cry of the soul against the war.
