Slonim
Element of protection
Slonim is a town in the Grodno region, the administrative centre of the Slonim district. The first written reference to Uslonim was made in the Ipatiev Chronicle under the year 1252. In 1410 the Slonim Regiment participated in the Battle of Grunwald.
The history of the town on the Shchara River is inseparably linked with the families of Sapegas, Oginskies and Puslovskies, whose manor Albertine is one of the visiting cards of the town. Just 10 kilometres from Slonim is the Zhirovichi Holy Dormition Stavropegic Monastery.
