On May 15, two stamps dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Aleksander N. Benois, painter, will go into postal circulation
Alexander Nikolaevich Benois (1870–1960) was a Russian painter, art historian, art critic, founder and chief ideologist of The World of Art.
Among the outstanding paintings by Benois, we will name the following: Military Parade of Emperor Paul I (1907, State Russian Museum), Entry of Empress Catherine II in the Tsarskoye Selo Palace (1909, State Art Gallery of Armenia, Yerevan), Petersburg Street at the Time of Peter I (1910, private collection in Moscow) and Peter I Strolling in the Summer Garden (1910, State Russian Museum).
The stamps provide images of paintings A.N. Benois’ Portrait by L.S. Bakst (1898, State Russian Museum) and Military Parade of Emperor Paul I (1907, State Russian Museum) by A. N. Benois.

Face value: 50 rubles per each stamp.
Stamp size: 50×37 mm; sheet size: 130×217 mm.
Form of issue: sheet with illustrated margins of 10 (2×5) stamps.
Quantity: 120 thousand each stamp (12 thousand each sheet).
