The Manchurian operation (August 9 - September 2, 1945) was the final offensive operation of the Armed Forces of the USSR and the People’s Revolutionary Army of Mongolia during World War II, which resulted in the liberation of the Chinese and Korean territories occupied by Japanese invaders, the unconditional surrender of Japan and the transfer of Kuril Islands and southern Sakhalin to the USSR.

The postal stamp provides an image of the Soviet soldiers’ offensive during the Manchurian operation.
