On September 8, 2021 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the souvenir sheet “Architecture of Belarus. Orthodox churches”.
A series continuation. Beginning nos. 903, 904. Artist: Tatyana Dolskaya. Design: Yelena Medved. Printing: offset. Colour: multicoloured with additional paint like bronze. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. There are 3 stamps in the souvenir sheet. Perforation: Nos. 1429, 1431 – frame 13:131/2, No.1430 – oval 133/4. Size: Nos. 1429, 1431 – 26х29,6 mm, No.1430 – 56х40 mm. Church of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, consecrated more than 120 years ago, is one of the few architectural objects of the capital, which has survived to this day almost in its original form.
It was built at the Military Cemetery in Minsk in 1898 in honor of the victory of the Russian troops in the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878.
The project was prepared with the assistance of the parish of church of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky in Minsk.
