On April 12, 2016 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “Belarusian communications satellite “Belintersat-1”.

Design: Yelena Medved. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: сomb 131/4: 131/4. Size of the stamp: 45x45 mm. Sheet composition: 6 (3x2) stamps. Size of the sheet: 192x100 mm. Print quantity: 54.000 stamps.

The stamp was printed at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Bobruisk Integrated Printing House named after A. T.  Nepogodin”.

Letter “H” is equal to the surface tariff of a letter up to 20 gram abroad.

The creation of the National System of Satellite Communication and Broadcast is the largest project in the field of telecommunications, implemented by the Republic of Belarus. The project is of high innovative, economic, social and political importance to the country.The decision to launch its own communications satellite was taken at the highest state level. A closed tender was announced for this project, which was won by the China Great Wall Industry Corporation.

The Belarusian communications satellite "Belintersat-1" was launched on January 15, 2016 at 7: 57pm Minsk time from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (China).

The project was prepared in cooperation with the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the post office No.1 of Minsk (shop “Philately”, 16 Moskovskaya street) on the stamp issuing day.
