November 16, 1871 is the official date of the opening of the Smolensk - Minsk - Brest railway. This became an important event in the history of the Belarusian Railway.
The line, which connected the center of Russia with Western Europe by the shortest route, became the point for the formation of the entire railway network of Belarus.
The project was prepared in cooperation with the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings, the Museum of the History of the Belarusian Railway, Minsk City History Museum, Museum of History and Culture of Orsha, Baranovichi Museum of Local Lore, the history room of Brest-Central station.
