On January 10, 2023 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the postage stamp “Year of the Rabbit” of the series “Oriental calendar”.
A series continuation. Beginning Nos. 1056, 1337, 1405, 1450. Artist: Victor Chaichuk. Design: Yauheniya Biadonik. Print process: offset. Colour: multicoloured. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforations: comb 12. Stamp size: 28х35 mm. Sheet composition: 6 (3x2) stamps. Sheet size: 103x90 mm. The technology of thermal stamping by metalized foil of golden colour was used on the stamp and stamp margins. Print quantity: 30.000 stamps.

The postage stamp “Year of the Rabbit” continues the series of issues on the “Oriental calendar” theme.
The Oriental (Chinese) calendar is based on a 12-year lunar cycle, in which each year passes under the sign of one animal.
The New Year according to the Oriental calendar falls on different dates between January 21 and February 20.
2023 is the year of the Black Water Rabbit (Cat, Hare), which will come on January 22, 2023 and will last until February 9, 2024.
The project was prepared in cooperation with the Republican Institute of Confucius China Studies of the Belarusian State University.
