On September 15, 2023 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the souvenir sheet “400th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Epiphany Kutein Male Monastery in Orsha”.

Holy Epiphany Kutein Male Monastery is an Orthodox monastery of the 17th century. It is located on the outskirts of Orsha at the confluence of the Kuсieinka River with the Dniapro river.

September 19, 1623 is considered the founding day of the monastery, when the founder Bagdan Statkievich gave a deed of gift to the monastery.

A printing house operated at the lavra, where Spirydon Sobal worked, who in 1631 published his famous Primer, the first on Belarusian lands.

The project was prepared in cooperation with the Holy Epiphany Kutein Male Monastery in Orsha.
