He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and served as the People's Commissar of Finance of the Georgian SSR from 1931 to 1936. Agrba was a key figure in the collectivization of agriculture in Georgia and was known for his tough and uncompromising stance against kulaks and other enemies of the Soviet state. In 1936, Agrba was accused of being an "enemy of the people" and was arrested by the NKVD. He was eventually sentenced to death and executed in 1937 during the height of Stalin's purges. Despite his controversial legacy, Agrba is still remembered today as an important figure in the history of Abkhazia and Georgia.
