Stamp is square format.

Perforation varies from 12.5 to 16. Handstamped either in black, blue, green,red or violet on 1901 serie with various motives (depending of issuing department). Shown, the Guayas province overprint ‘CBenjRo’ of Guayas Governor Carlos Benjamin Rosales. It can be found in Violet, Blue & Black on all the 1901 issues, although Olamo lists it only in blue and purplish black. Both Harris & Fernandez list the 1899 issues in black, and Olamo states that all the Guayas Province issues are Fournier forgeries.
