Stamp is square format.
Issue for Cartagena. Handstamped in red lilac R / CARTAGENA. Letter "R" in two types: both large and thin. Used as registration stamp. Perforations varies from 7 to 12. Due to out-solded regular registration stamps or because they become useless due to inflation, regular stamps were overprinted in this way for registration purposes and as cancellation.Also in the issue Revolutionary Issues during Civil war (1898-1904):
