BRITISH CENTRAL AFRICA [British Central Africa] — a British protectorate in Central Africa on the shore of the lake. BC [British Columbia] — a former British colony in Canada. With Jul 1871 province of Canada. The first stamp issued in 1860. It says (English). "British Columbia and Vancouver island". Mark was only used in British Columbia. In 1865 released another brand with a changed name in connection with the merger Brainsway Columbia and Vancouver island into a single colony of British Columbia. BRITISH EAST AFRICA [British East Africa] — the protectorate was established in 1895 in the British company of East Africa. In 1903 British East Africa combined with Uganda. BRITISH EAST Africa COMPANY [British East Africa Company] the British company, ran until 1895 the territory of present-day Kenya. In 1895 the area came under the jurisdiction gosudarstava and became known as British East Africa. The company had its own postal service. BRITISH INDIA [East India, India] — former British colony in South Asia. Until 1858 under the control of the East India company. In 1947 achieved independence, receiving dominion status; 06.01.1950 proclaimed the Republic of India. The first postage stamps issued in Sindh 01.07.1852. After that, the East India company had monopoly on Indian mail, decided to issue stamps for the whole of India. The first stamps were issued in 1854 an inscription on them (English). "India". BRITISH INDIAN OCEAN TERRITORY [British Indian Ocean Territory] is the territory consisting of the Chagos archipelago, Islands of Aldabra, Farquhar and Dorosh, United into a separate colony in 1967. In 1976 the island was returned to the Republic of Seychelles, and the Chagos archipelago to Mauritius. BRITISH NEW GUINEA [British New Guinea] — formerly the South-Eastern part of New Guinea (Papua), and Islands Trobrian d Intercaste Murua (Vudlark) and the archipelago of Louisiade. In 1884-88, the territory was part of the protectorate Britiannica New Guinea, then a colony of great Britain. In 1905, placed under the control of Australia. In 1906 he received the name Papua. BRITISH SOLOMON ISLANDS [British Solomon Islands] — in 1893 a British protectorate, which included the Solomon Islands and Santa Cruz. From 1975 the name of the country Solomon Islands. With 07.07.1978 independent state. To produce their brands in 1896-1906 used stamps of New South Wales, and from 1906 they collected payment in cash, which was celebrated with a special stamp. In 1907 produced the first of the brand, however, until September of 1907 they were used only for shipments within the Islands and to Sydney. For further shipment was required to finish gluing the stamps of New South Wales. Since 1908, the brand could be used to pay for the shipment of any items. The first commemorative stamps issued in 1935, the first unit in 1969.
